Our Top Tips For Must Visits Within Walking Distance of Te Papa

Take a walk along Oriental Bay, around the Wellington waterfront to Frank Kitts park or if you are feeling energetic head uphill to the Mount Victoria Lookout for the best views of Wellington city.

Go for a sea swim at Oriental bay or swim indoors at the Freyberg pool along Oriental bay

If you are a foodie, then don’t miss visiting Moore Wilson Fresh: this is a unique Deli and fresh food store; it’s your go to for interesting produce. You will find this only 10 minutes’ walk away on the corner of Tory and College streets.

Just across the road from Moore Wilson you will find Caffe L’affare one of Wellingtons many coffee roasters and Ekor Bookshop and Cafe for a cozy cup of tea.

Hannah’s Laneway is tucked away and is home to a range of delectable flavour-filled factories eg artisan chocolate, bread, peanut butter and locally roasted coffee.

Cuba street is regarded as creative and artistic. A walk along Cuba street will take you past many artistic characters and lively entertainment from Wellingtons busker’s. Here you will also find a delightful range of second hand shops and of course the freshest nuts in Wellington: Imagine getting all your vegan delights under one roof, you can if you visit the newly opened vegan store at 207 Cuba street

Charging Your Phone at Conference

Please note all electronic device chargers need to be tagged and tested. Te Papa only allows people to use chargers if they are tagged and tested as part of their Health and Safety guidelines.
